Painting and Design
Conversations in light: Paint is much more than color and protection. In the world of Design the textures and application of various finishes are a key component of good Design
Its all in the preparation: For paints and finishes to give the best performance it is crucial they are applied over a suitable base. I use dedicated proven primers under paint that allow the top coats to flow well and adhere correctly. Sanding sealers and Shellac do much the same with Varnishes.
Let it Dry Let it Cure: When ever I have painted dark colors on walls, it usually takes 3-4 coats with minimum 8 hours drying in-between coats. Allowing the paint to start curing before recoating gives the best reflective quality of the paint. With dark colors it can take up to a month for the paint to be fully cured.
All wall and trim paints should be treated carefully and not washed for 2 weeks.
